Requests are accepted from approved companies. One short application covers both RO and SRO requests, and asks for three things.

  1. Your company nameThe contractor the operations are written for.
  2. Your authorised usersThe name, email address and telephone number of each person who will send in requests.
  3. An email address for invoicesNormally your accounts or invoice department.

What GNC does

RO writing

Routine Operations written from your request, your project drawing and the SGN gas map. One RO can cover several phases, and every RO is checked by an experienced gas network engineer before it is returned.

SRO writing

SROs written on the Appendix C front sheet, with the method statements, schematic map and pre-start checklists attached. Every SRO is checked by an experienced gas network engineer before it is returned.

One to one support for engineers and team leaders who are building their experience of operations on the gas network.

How it works

From request to completed RO

  1. Send the request

    Fill in the request form on your phone or computer. One request can cover several phases. You can speak your answers using the microphone on your phone keyboard.

  2. We write the RO

    GNC checks the job against the gas map and your drawing, then writes each phase with its method statement, sketch and calculations.

  3. Checked

    Every RO and SRO is checked against ML2 and SCO/5 before it leaves. If anything in the request is unclear, we ask you before the RO is finished.

  4. Returned to you

    The completed RO is emailed to the address you give, within 24 to 48 hours, ready to go to your Authorising Engineer.
